THE COMMISSION PROCESS

Commissioning a painting is the perfect way to tailor a work to your space, budget or vision. I can work directly from your imagery or photographs, or from a conceptual brief to custom-design a work that brings your idea to life.

STEP 1: THE BRIEF

Provide a clear description of what it is you are looking for including any of the following aspects that may be relevant:

  • Source or inspirational images, such as your pets, a favourite chair, rug, theme etc

  • Examples of my previous work that you like, whether you like an interior, tropical landscape or other

  • Examples of the colours or tones you like, colours you dislike

  • approximate size of the work

  • Whether you would like the artwork framed or unframed

STEP 2: QUOTATION AND WORK AGREEMENT

Once we have established a clear brief, I will provide you with a quote, outlining the details of the commission and expected delivery timeframe. If both parties are happy to proceed, i will request a deposit, and i can then begin working on your project. A 10% deposit is required to begin the work.

STEP 3: PROGRESS CHECKS

Throughout the process i may check in at various points to ensure the vision is coming to life in line with what you had in mind. This may not be required if i have a very clear idea of what you want to achieve with the final work. Once the work is nearing completion, i will send photos for any final feedback

STEP 4: FINISHED WORK PROOF

Photographs of the final work will be supplied upon its completion, prior to shipping. Once I receive confirmation that the work has been completed to your satisfaction, the remaining project balance will be due and your work will be framed (if requested) and shipped. You will be notified once the work has been shipped with tracking details. Shipping costs will be provided for in your initial quote, and your painting will be supplied ready to hang.

STEP 5: DELIVERY

When your artwork arrives, please inspect it thoroughly to ensure it matches your request, and that it arrives from the courier service damage-free. I love seeing clients with their new works in-situ, so please send a snap of your painting installed in its new home, or tag me on Instagram
