Thank you for checking out my creative world!

Painting is my joy and my escape. I like the spontaneity of applying paint in loose brushstrokes, the blending, the shaping, the glazing as well as the playfulness of decorative details. Getting lost in this process gives me joy that I hope is contagious.

My studio is a shed in my backyard, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. I have always been fascinated by Australia’s beautiful nature and I am fortunate to let this inspire my artworks. The Australian birdlife, rainforest, as well as rural Australia has been subject matter in many of my works.

Beauty, colour, sunlight, travel and finding a little story somewhere is what drives me to create. I am attracted to the shapes and colour light creates. I guess my training as a textile designer influences the use of pattern and colour.

Painting interiors and still life, I let me imaginations run free. Inside these rooms and often vintage inspired settings, the viewer gets to travel the world and encounter a menagerie of animals. Rooms start to have a life of their own, while colours and patterns set the mood.

I use acrylic and oil paint for most works, but love to work with gouache and inks when sketching and working small. Printmaking is another passion of mine, I have my own printing press and have been working with aluminium etching, solar plates and mono prints.
